The all-new entry-level Volvo XC60 B5 with front-wheel drive and mild-hybrid technology starts at R750 000.
Volvo Car South Africa is now ready to talk about the plug-in hybrid version of the luxury premium SUV that’s officially priced at R1 218 900.
Greg Maruszewski, Managing Director at Volvo Car South Africa, says the XC60 T8 Recharge arrives at the right time, with local interest in electrified vehicles growing fast.
Globally, sales of Volvo Recharge models increased 11.5% year-on-year in January 2022, accounting for 31.7% of all Volvo vehicles sold around the world during the month and Maruszewski believes a similar trend will emerge in South Africa.
As with other derivatives in the Volvo XC60 range, the T8 Recharge features an Android-powered infotainment system, complete with built-in Google apps and services. Volvo was the first automaker to integrate its cars with Google Assistant-enabled devices directly.
Specification highlights include a standard-fit panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, inductive smartphone charging and 19-inch alloys, while the R-Design variant gains sporty model-specific interior and exterior styling cues.
Various options for either derivative include a thumping Harman Kardon Premium Sound system and air suspension. If you really want to opt for that “Baller” look, eye-catching wheels measuring up to 22 inches in diameter are also available as an option.
